ANATOMIC PATHOLOGY

• Histopathology – tissue examination from biopsy or surgical procedures under a microscope. There are many special stains that are used to aid in the microscopic diagnosis. There are also techniques utilizing antibodies to identify components of tissue.
  • Immunohistochemistry- Special staining used to aid in diagnosis of many different disease states.
• Cytopathology or cytology is the examination of single or group of cells under a microscope.
